How can our Cryogenic solutions help you?
Demand for cryogenic insulation solutions is surging due to continuous efforts globally to diversify the energy mix from coal to other resources, such as natural gas. BASF is ready to partner you with our polyurethane solutions for various cryogenic applications.
These products which are certified according to GTT and KOGAS standards include spray foam, polyurea coating systems, adhesive and PU cryogenic block foam systems, for insulation of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquified natural gas (LNG), liquefied ethane gas (LEG) carriers, and gas storage tanks.
When used as core insulation material, Elastopor® Cryo provides robust, maintenance free and outstanding thermal insulation with constant temperature for cryogenic containment systems. These systems are used for the transportation of liquefied gases at extremely low temperatures, ranging from minus 60°C to minus 163°C.
In addition it can also be used in prefabricated insulation pipes to provide superior fire performance with Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of > 30% and high strength
The custom-formulated solution which is used as protective coatings contains zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) and exceptional adhesion to a variety of substrates including concrete and metal.
Elastocoat® Cryo ensures carriers and on-shore structures are protected from corrosion, abrasion and harsh weather conditions.
Where electricity flows, plastics have to show excellent electrical isolation, outstanding flame retardancy and hydrolysis resistance while meeting the relevant IEC standard. For sealed connectors the compatibility to LSR is of high importance.
Elastospray® Cryo, which is a spray applied foam insulation system, enables cryogenic pipes and storage or fuel tanks to have excellent temperature stability and insulation performance.
