Another dangerous scenario is dike overtopping, since subsequent erosion on the land side inevitably results in complete dike failure. This is where Elastocoast® opens up a totally new dimension in coastal protection.

在海岸保护中经受住考验的材料同样也可应用于河岸和运河。其目标同样是建立稳定的、接近自然的护岸工程,以便加固岸区,使之在承受航运和潮汐(例如易北河的情形)的压力时保持稳定。在建设航道时,还可进行水下施工,即将经过足够反应时间的石料与聚酰胺的混合料倾倒到近岸的水中并压实。其原理与用于堤岸建设的情况一样简单,即防止河岸边缘由于强水流的冲击而变得脆弱和受损。

在处理之前,必须将使用的石块清洁干净并干燥表面。这一要求初看之下好像很难达到。其他已经完成的项目显示可在搬运和物流方面采取简单的措施来满足这一要求。

Elastocoast®包含大约50%的植物脂肪酸酯,因此是可回收的原材料。此外,由于其腔体具有高孔隙率,所以可以为动植物提供额外栖息地。同时Elastocoast®护岸还可以轻松集成到景观的整体外观中。由于材料是透明的,所以很难将它们与自然色的抛石区分开来。

在材料完全固化之前,必须使用干沙将表面覆盖,这也是另外一种对视觉效果进行调整的方法,还可以生成防滑表面。
