Elastollan® 1176A10FR and 1188A10FR

BASF's new solutions for EV tubes and hoses

Increasing popularity of Electric Vehicles (EV) is driving demand for charging infrastructure at home and on the road. This means that EV charging tubes and hoses need to withstand harsh environmental conditions and be rugged enough to hold up over time.

Manufacturers know the challenge is having tubes and hoses that meet demanding performance standards that are required for electric vehicles. The solution to these challenges is a tube and hose material that has excellent hydrolysis resistance and abrasion toughness, while having low conductivity and excellent long-term weatherability.

In response to these challenges, BASF has developed two new grades of Elastollan® TPU, 1176A10FR and 1188A10FR. These grades meet the global requirements for low values of conduction (< 35 µS/mm), according to EN 50267-2-2 or IEC 60754-1.

These new grades are Non-Halogenated FR Ether grades that have superior hydrolysis resistance, abrasion properties and cold temperature flexibility. In addition to these benefits, the new Elastollan® TPU grades have improved adhesion of grommets due to low amount of fillers

Contact BASF and let us show you how Elastollan® TPU will enable your tube and hose design.
