Mechanical recycling of plastics is feasible if the raw material (waste source) has appropriate quality and constant volume. The use of mechanically recycled products can be limited depending upon the requirements of the application. In these cases, chemical recylcing may be the better option. However, an advantage of mechanical reycycling of plastic parts for the automotive industry is the low CO2 emission (ie. PCF), as mechanical recycling process usually does not require extensive chemical process.
Mechanical recycling is often recognized by governments/regulation towards recycled content and recycling process.
