BASF is a member of the global Alliance to End Plastic Waste

No single organisation can solve the global plastic waste problem alone. That’s why BASF co-founded the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) in January 2019. Today the AEPW has around 60 different companies along the plastic value chain. The members have committed to investing in Alliance projects to help minimize and manage plastic waste and keep it out of our environment. Further the Alliance aims to create circular systems that utilize materials and products for the long term. They create circular solutions.

The AEPW conducts large-scale projects, organized into country-specific or thematic programs, with funding prioritized for emerging and developing countries. Country Programs aim to reduce plastic leakage and increase recycling rates in nations such as Indonesia, South Africa, and India. Thematic Programs address global systemic issues, like flexible packaging.

Through its membership, BASF demonstrates its commitment to reducing plastic waste with on-the-ground projects and impactful solutions.
