Project STAR - Nigeria

Funded by BASF Starting Ventures, Project STAR has been developed in collaboration with local partners: the social enterprise Wecyclers, the NGO "MoiJeuTri" (operating in Togo and Côte d'Ivoire), an organization dedicated to environmental education for younger generations, and Recyplast, our industrial recycling expert responsible for the mechanical recycling of expanded polystyrene.

Siya Phambili project - South Africa
Polyurethane foam is commonly used in footwear manufacturing but poses significant challenges in terms of waste management.The Siya Phambili project is aiming to address the issue from polyurethane foam waste.

Circulaí project - Brazil
CirculAí is a pioneering circular economy program aimed at collecting and reusing polyamide 6 and 66 waste from BASF customers and partners.
West Bengal ecovio® Plus Project - India
Initiated by BASF and supported by stakeholders such as the Stump Jump Foundation (Australia), STEP Private Ltd (Mumbai), and the BCKV University (West Bengal), the West Bengal ecovio® Plus Project aimed to showcase the advantages of combining high-quality composts made from source-separated food waste and certified soil-biodegradable mulch films. With the help of ecovio® products from BASF, the project demonstrated that combining compost and soil-biodegradable mulch film delivers greater synergistic benefits to the agricultural sector than using them individually.
