For the first time, BASF presents its innovations in the plastics industry at the FoamExpo in Stuttgart, Germany. BASF will exhibit the following materials at its booth in hall 10:
Spray Gel Elastocoat® C: more comfort and pleasant coolness
The spray gel Elastocoat® C combines numerous advantages for the customer and the mattress manufacturer. The flexible gel is easy to spray on different mattress surfaces, at variable positions and in different thicknesses. The customer benefits from a pleasant, cool mattress surface that provides restful sleep and of course meets the Oeko Tex 100 requirements.
Infinergy® is the world’s first expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (E-TPU) and stands out with its revolutionary fusion of high elasticity, low weight and high resistancy to permanent load. The closed-cell, elastic particle foam can be used in various fields and convinces with its high elongation at break, tensile strength and abrasion resistance as well as good chemical resistance.
Basotect®: the flexible foam that combines sound absorption and design
Basotect® is a flexible, open-cell foam made from melamine resin – a duroplastic synthetic material. A typical characteristic is the intricate spatial mesh structure that is formed by thin ribs that can therefore be bent into shape easily. Basotect® has excellent sound absorption properties, a low weight, high temperature resistance and low flammability.
Neopolen® is used wherever high energy absorption, low weight, and high temperature resistance are essential. Due to its wide spectrum of properties, it offers an almost unparalleled number of construction, application, and design options.
CosyPUR® is the polyurethane mold flexible foam of BASF Polyurethanes with specifically adjustable product properties by its cell morphology. It is modifiable from ultrasoft to visco-elastic and extends the application possibilities of mold flexible foams. CosyPUR®, the multitalented mold flexible foam, is suitable for the production of pillows, seats, office furniture, back rests, orthopaedic products and many more.
After two years of intensive research, BASF is now able to present prototypes of the world's first particle foam based on polyethersulfone (PESU). The foam is characterized by its unique combination of properties: high-temperature resistance, inherent flame retardancy and extremely light while stiff and strong.
