Waxes
Luwax® polymers are synthetic waxes produced by means of high-pressure ethylene (co-) polymerization. By varying processing conditions and functionalization, a broad spectrum of properties can be achieved. Different melt viscosities tailor the waxes to different lubrication needs for plastic processing. Tuning the polarity of the wax by oxidation or co-polymerization optimizes dispersion efficiency in masterbatches, increases compatibility to polar resins and enables easy emulsification. Micronization results in extreme fine particle sizes for coating and printing applications.
Our Luwax® products enhance pigment dispersion and make plastics easier to color. Waxes disperse pigments homogeneously in the masterbatch polymer carrier even when quantities are large. Waxes help produce even coloration, very high color strengths, and smooth surfaces. They also help maximize the efficient use of valuable pigments.
Economical PVC processing with our Luwax® products as lubricants gives top quality end products. Waxes as lubricants are essential components of PVC formulations. PVC is impossible to process in its pure state and must be mixed with numerous additives to suit the intended purpose and achieve the desired end properties.
With our Luwax® products, coated and printed surfaces become more resistant to scratches, repel water more effectively or have better anti-slip and anti-block properties. With the help of waxes, a coated surface can be modified to be exactly as the customer wants it – from smooth to slip-resistant or to achieve matting effects.
