Abdruck honorarfrei. Copyright by BASF.

Steam cracker II, the largest individual plant at BASF's Ludwigshafen site, covers a surface area of about 64,000 square meters, which is about the size of 13 soccer fields. The steam cracker is also the heart of BASF's Verbund production strategy. This giant plant has been operating since 1981 and uses steam to crack naphtha at about 850°C [1,562°F]. This process leads primarily to ethylene and propylene, both indispensable feedstocks for manufacturing numerous products in Ludwigshafen.Print free of charge. Copyright by BASF.

BASF Polyuretány Slovensko

As the world's leading supplier of polyurethane system (PUR) solutions, BASF is further developing its global network. By establishing two system houses in Poland and Slovakia through its subsidiary BASF adds BASF Polyuretány Slovensko.

It responds to the needs of fast-growing markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Here, BASF, with its presence in Hungary and Russia, is already the main supplier of PUR specialties. Like all system houses, these new branches are equipped with local preparation, sales and development units. They provide the customer with quick and competent service.

BASF has more than 30 such system houses in the world that are cross-linked to each other, enabling the group's knowledge and experience to be used quickly and effectively. The system house is a stand-alone and locally functioning position that, besides traditional functions such as technical service, development, system preparation and sales, also specializes in consulting and customer care.

"With activities like these, we are consistently strengthening our leadership in the attractive markets of Central and Eastern Europe," says Dr. Uwe Hartvvig, Group Vice President BASF Polyurethanes Europe. " therefore, they can rely on proven quality of products and services anywhere in the world ", adds BASF Polyuretány Slovensko.
