Footwear Design Contests

Since 2006, young students design outstanding shoes in collaboration with BASF, whose materials are used for the soles every year.

Have a look at the different themes and shoes of all the contests from the last years!

Excellent properties, such as mechanical strength, resistance to abrasion, and slip resistance, together with a broad range of possible degrees of hardness make Elastollan® an ideal material for footwear applications.  

Soft grades are used for cushioning elements, medium hardness grades are suitable for compact or combination soles and hard grades are the best solution for heels and heel tips. Anti-static agents can be added to the Elastollan® so that it can be used for safety footwear.

Ein ganz spezieller Sneaker ist der Sieger-Schuh des Design-Wettbewerbs 2014, den die Schule für Schuh-Design und –Fertigung (Politecnico Calzaturiero) in Capriccio di Vigonza bei Padua (Italien) 2014 zusammen mit der BASF zum achten Mal ausgeschrieben hat. Die pfiffige Schuh-Sole besteht aus dem Polyurethan Elastopan®, das mit Elastollan® (TPU)-Folie überzogen ist und zwei Elastollan®-Inlays enthält. 

A special sneaker was the 2014 winning design in the design contest that the School of Footwear Design and Technology (Politecnico Calzaturiero) in Capriccio di Vigonza near Padua, Italy, has now held for the eighth time. The design is composed of an Elastopan® polyurethane sole with two Elastollan® inserts covered by an Elastollan® film
