Der neue Stuhl Belleville von Vitra besteht aus zwei separaten Komponenten – eine Rahmenstruktur und eine Sitzschale, aus Ultramid® B3EG6 SI, einem Polyamid der BASF mit besonders hoher Oberflächenqualität (SI: surface improved). Der neue Stuhl entsteht im sogenannten GIT-Verfahren, einer speziellen Spritzgießtechnik (Gasinjektionstechnik) und ist mithilfe des Simulationsinstruments Ultrasim® entwickelt worden. Erstmals ließ sich bei einer Festigkeitssimulation die reale Form der Gasblasen der GIT berücksichtigen.

The new Belleville chair from Vitra consists of two separate components – a frame structure and a seat shell made of Ultramid® B3EG6 SI, a polyamide from BASF with an exceptionally high surface quality (SI: surface improved). The new chair is produced using the GIT method, a special injection molding technology (gas-injection technology) and was developed using the Ultrasim® simulation instrument. For the first time, the real shape of the GIT gas bubbles was taken into account in a strength simulation.
