BASF South East Asia joins ZDHC Foundation to scale up sustainability in the leather, textile, and footwear industry

Singapore – July 23, 2020 – BASF South East Asia has joined the ZDHC Foundation as a “Contributor” in its Chemical Industry category. The partnership with the Foundation and its extensive pool of experts from organizations in the textile, apparel, leather and footwear industry underlines BASF’s commitment to being an industry leader in driving sustainable chemistry, innovation and best practices. Haptex 2.0 – Renewed design for the next generation of synthetic leather applications

BASF today launched 10 variations of Haptex 2.0 – a new and improved series of its innovative polyurethane (PU) solution for the production of synthetic leather. Enhanced with a higher peel strength, anti-yellowing, and high abrasion performance properties, Haptex 2.0 enables designers to achieve high performance and the desired appearance of applications using synthetic leather across different industries, such as furniture, footwear, automotive, apparel, and accessories. Additionally, without using any organic solvents, synthetic leather made with Haptex 2.0 meets stringent VOC standards.

BASF’s innovative polyurethane solution Haptex® makes NIO’s car seat cover safer and more comfortable

NIO, a leading new energy vehicle company, has upgraded with enhanced seat covers made of BASF’s Haptex® material, the first polyurethane (PU) solution made without the use of organic solvents. It helps reduce emission and thus odors, thereby improving the interior air quality of cars. With its excellent haptics, Haptex also helps enhance the look and feel of seatings for NIO.

The campervan of the future: BASF presents concept vehicle VisionVenture at K2019

The VisionVenture, co-created by BASF and HYMER, is a near-production glimpse into the future of van life. Using the development expertise of the BASF Creation Center, a new class of van has been created that blazes a trail in lightweight construction, independence, travel experience and design. The vehicle celebrated its world premiere at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, at the end of August. Now, BASF will present the VisionVenture at K2019 (Hall 5, Stand C21/D21) in Duesseldorf from October 16 to 23.
