Recycling of garage door elements with PU

BASF and Hörmann joined forces to develop a closed loop recycling process for garage doors. Production waste from garage door production is being used to produce a recycling polyol in a depolymerization process.

BASF uses a polyol, recycled by Rampf from post Industrial waste, collected from the production of sectional doors at Hörmann. Instead of disposing the waste, the product is transferred into a high-quality polyol, well suited to meet the high standards of the BASF product portfolio. The excellent partnership between Rampf, Hoermann and BASF allows a win-win-win-solution for all involved parties, accelerating on their individual know-how and combined with their conjoint wish to continuously improve their closed loop approach.
