Concrete improvement and renovation
Concrete has been used throughout the centuries as a construction material mainly due to its good mechanical properties. However in several types of construction, concrete does not survive throughout the years, therefore many concrete constructions are being protected with coatings. Unfortunately many of the old-style coating systems have not withstood the test of time due to the time needed for application and the curing time. Also the rigid character of these product do not perform well in relation to the relative flexibility and movement of concrete constructions, cracking is a reoccurring problem. Environmental rules and regulations such as PGS15, CUR/PVB (Dutch regulations) demand the necessity of conservation in combination with waterproofing.
For all these issues there is a solution: POLYUREA. This is a 2 component material which is applied using a “hot spray” method. An important benefit of this product is its reactivity, where traditional conservation materials may need up to 48 hours to cure, the Elastocoat® C 6335/101 can be accessed by light foot traffic after 60 minutes and heavy traffic can be allowed onto the surface after 2 to 3 hours. .
Specific properties of the Elastocoat® C 6335/101:
NO VOC’s
Fast curing
High flexibility
Exceptional chemical resistance
High abrasion resistance
Anti-static properties possible
Application onto substrates as cold as –15 °C possible
These unique properties makes this product very suitable for the protection of:
Concrete flooring
Secondary containment
Sewage reservoirs
Storage tanks
Pond constructions
Park decks
Production and warehouse flooring
